Storm-affected business can get SBA assistance

San Luis Obispo County business owners affected by the recent storms are now eligible to apply for financial assistance through the Small Business Administration (SBA). SBA provides low-interest, long-term loans for physical and economic damage caused by a declared disaster.

Business owners who incurred financial losses due to storm damage are encouraged to apply for assistance online at www.disasterloanassistance.sba.gov or by calling 1-800-659-2955 or (TTY) 7-1-1 to request an application.

In coordination with the County of San Luis Obispo, FEMA is in the process of opening a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) that will be able to provide in-person assistance to residents who have questions or are unable to process their applications online or over the phone. The DRC is expected to open early next week as FEMA brings in resources from various agencies across the country

If you have questions, contact the County Office of Emergency Services at (805) 781-5678.
