New streetlights for Los Osos and other county locations

New streetlights are being installed in Los Osos by the San Luis Obispo County Department of Public Works.

The new streetlights and associated improvements are being installed in Templeton, Los Osos, Pismo Beach and Arroyo Grande.

Work started last week and is expected to be complete by March 2023, depending on weather.

The following locations were prioritized to increase safety to the travelling public, pedestrians and cyclists. New streetlights will be installed at the following locations:

Templeton
  • Vineyard Drive and Santa Rita Road
Los Osos
  • South Bay Boulevard and Los Olivos Avenue
  • South Bay Boulevard and Pismo Avenue
Pismo Beach
  •  Price Canyon Road and West Ormonde Road
  • Arroyo GrandeNoyes Road and Printz Road

For the safety of the public and workers, road shoulders will be closed adjacent to construction activities during work hours, typically 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. Additional temporary traffic control measures including any combination of flagging, lane shifts or lane closures may be necessary. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans and consider alternative routes. Please refer to the attached maps for the project locations.

Lee Wilson Electric Company of Arroyo Grande has been awarded the contract for $243,462 to perform the work. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s Highway Safety Improvement Program, and County Road Fund.
