Jennifer Gaviola was hired by the board of the Cayucos Elementary School to be the new superintendent. Gaviola started her job as superintendent at the beginning of this month.
In a letter to the parents of Cayucos, Gaviola told them that she had worked for the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District for the past seven years. She was most recently the deputy superintendent for Human Resources for the Paso Robles district.
Gaviola wrote in a self-introduction, "I love being a public school teacher." "I am an advocate for all students, a lifelong learner, a fair and kind leader, a mom, and a wife."
The new superintendent says she is looking forward to having personal meetings with each employee.
Scott Smith, who was replaced by Gaviola, had a lot of different jobs over the past four years. Before the 2019-2020 school year, Smith was only in charge of Cayucos Elementary School. Smith was named superintendent of both Cayucos Elementary and Coast Unified for the 2019-2020 school year.
